T.A. (Taslim) Alade
Taslim Alade (1976) is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR).
His research titled - Adapting Innovations for Sustainable Application of Service Delivery in the Urban light-Rail Transport System, is supervised by Prof.dr. Jurian Edelenbos and Dr. Alberto Gianoli, IHS-Erasmus University Rotterdam.
In this research, he classifies how innovations are adopted or contextualized by cities for sustainable application of service delivery in the urban light-rail transport System, considering their peculiar socio-economic and environmental differences. In this case, three cities with different socio-economic conditions, namely - Lagos, Addis-Ababa, and Abuja are receiving the light-rail transport innovation from China. This research is scientifically relevant for applying adaptive methods from adopted innovation in a manner that will guarantee its sustainability and provision of service to the light-rail commuters and transport development sector of the present day dynamic world. Thus, providing a sustainable framework for the stakeholders, specifically responsible for decision making in adopting innovations.
Preceding to his PhD course, he works as a space applications scientist, with emphasis on GIS, at the National Space Research and Development Agency, Abuja, Nigeria. As an urban manager and GIS specialist, he has M.Sc in Urban Management and Development at IHS-Erasmus University Rotterdam (2013), M.Sc in Geographic Information System (GIS) at University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2008) and a Bachelors degree in Geography at Bayero University Kano, Nigeria (2004). His professional background and work experience provides him with a strong interdisciplinary effect in the urban development and governance domain.
