Sanne Boersma is a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
My PhD research project ‘Visualizing national societies’ involves a study of the measurements of immigrant integration by various institutions in Europe (statistical agencies, (semi) governmental research institutes, social scientific networks).
The aim of the research is to analyze the production of images of immigrant integration, which feed into policy, public debate and the social imagination in general. This PhD project is part of the ERC-project ‘Monitoring Modernity’ led by prof. dr. Willem Schinkel.
