Erasmus University Rotterdam

José Nederhand is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Public Adminstration at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

She is currently involved in the NWO Smart Governance research project on public-private partnerships. In the project she looks at smart governance innovations that are being employed by governments during collaboration with private and societal actors. Specifically, the project focuses on innovations that enhance interaction, joint sense making and the building of trust in such a way that public, private and societal partners succeed in overcoming institutional divides and uncertainties. Thus allowing the capacities of the collaboration and its participants to be materialised.

Besides working as a PhD candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam, José is also involved as a researcher in the Nederlandse School voor Openbaar Bestuur (NSOB) in the Hague. She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Research Master's degree in Media Studies from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
