Share your knowledge: workshop on Altmetrics
Altmetrics (alternative metrics) are an alternative for or complementary to traditional citation impact metrics. Altmetrics especially capture online attention – how has research been shared, discussed and reused online, for example on Twitter, in scholarly blogs or policy documents, in newspapers. You can use altmetrics from providers like Altmetric, Plum Analytics, Bookmetrix or ImpactStory to showcase the influence of and attention for your research, for example in your grant applications.
After the workshop you know what altmetrics are and how and when you can use them in a responsible manner. You will also be able to collect altmetrics for your own research outputs in Altmetric Explorer (to do this, please bring your own laptop to this workshop).
