The EUR Design Impact Transition platform is looking to support mid-career academics that want to work with them on societal challenges in an inter- and transdisciplinary way through an ‘academic assignment’ that helps them to turn their societal engagement and cross disciplinary ambitions into appreciated regular work. Given the DIT academics already engaged, they are especially looking for candidates from ESE, RSM, ESL, ESSB and ESHPM.

On 26 January there was a second session in the series Conversation with the Dean. The subject of this session was ‘Focus Group Research – methodological issues’.

ESHCC dean Martine van Selm and the participating PhD candidates reflected on methodological topics when working with the focus group method.

Writing a PhD is a demanding, complex and sometimes lonely activity. It requires not only intellectual, but also mental and emotional strength and flexibility. In other words: you need resilience.
People’s resilience differs. Some people feel they can handle just about everything, while others may feel less secure from time to time. The good news is that you can learn to be more resilient. This workshop teaches you the skills to do just that.
