In January and February the Graduate School will have two PhD courses at the ISS campus in The Hague. These courses have been scheduled to take place in The Hague to better serve our ISS PhD candidates. We still have several spots available so do not forget to register.
Loughborough University (UK) is offering advanced training in the social sciences in five areas, delivered through a series of two-day workshops. Five free places are available to external students on each course supported through ESRC-funded bursaries, covering the cost of travel, subsistence, overnight stay and course fees.
The programme allows scholars to conduct independent research from 30 to 90 days at one of China's top universities. Researchers from the following fields can apply: political science, sociology, economics, environment, finance, and other fields of the social sciences. Fudan is one of the top 3 universities in China.
Organising social and cultural events are a great way to get to know your fellow PhD candidates from other departments. And the Graduate School always welcomes initiatives that nurture a vibrant academic community. Therefore we have added a form on the website with which PhD candidates can us forward their ideas. Viable ideas will receive financial and promotional support.
In late spring 2016, the PhD Council conducted a satisfaction survey among all PhD candidates of the Graduate School. In total, 118 (of the approximately 400) PhD candidates filled in the survey. Here is an overview of the main outcomes.
