Introduction
In response to the reality that most doctoral graduates ultimately find employment outside of the academic sector the EGSH and the Erasmus University's Alumni Relations Team will run a series of online PhD Alumni dialogues. These workshops will focus on a career path after obtaining a doctoral degree in the social sciences or the humanities.
Working method
Each workshop will host a panel of alumni from the EGSH. The alumni will explain their personal background and the professional route that brought them to their current employment outside academia. There will be ample time for questions and discussion. The workshops will be moderated by our dean, dr. Esther Rozendaal.
More information about the participating alumni will be offered in due time.
About the instructor

Dr. Esther Rozendaal is the dean of the EGSH. Since 2020, she has been an associate professor of Communication and Behavioural Change at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB). Her research focuses on the digital resilience of young people. In particular, she investigates how to help children and teenagers to behave media-wise online. In addition to her academic research, she is concerned with bridging the gap between science and practice. In 2011, together with Prof. Moniek Buijzen (ESSB), she founded Bitescience, a company aimed at transferring scientific knowledge to professionals with young people as the target group.
